Where Have You Beans: MACAU! Part One

My goal every year is to travel at least one international and one local destination,

and for my birthday trip for 2015, I visited the "Las Vegas of Asia", MACAU! wooot!

So I am going to share to you my experience in Macau!

PRE-TRAVEL

Ticket: Last November 2014, while I was browsing my Facebook page, I suddenly saw an advertisement of the PISO FARE SALE of Cebu Pacific Air, So I immediately decided to book myself a birthday trip! As I browsed, I found a weekend travel to Macau. Originally, I planned to travel alone but then a friend of mine, Hi Jen!, called and I asked her If she would like to join since our birthdays are just a few days apart, then she said yes. I booked our flight and it costed us Php4300.00+ each for the piso fare! it is because of the other charges. and during that time, they still have to charge us with the fuel surcharge.

and here is our flight details:

Since, we are not allowed to go out of the country during school days, I can only book my flight for a weekend. it was indeed a short stay but I have to make the most out of it.

Two of my friends, Gela and Jesh, were also able to book a flight but theirs is from Saturday evening, to Monday evening. Nainggit kasi sila HAHAHAH

Then, Jenny was not able to come with me to Macau due to unfortunate circumstances in her life, but another two of my friends from YFC booked a flight to Macau to join me. aren't they sweet? heheheh hello Tal and Meryll!

FAST FORWARD TO DEPARTURE DAY.

Some points I would like to share:

Since I booked my flight last November 2014, I still have to pay the Terminal Fee which costs P550.00 (aside from the P1,620.00 travel tax); but, my friends (who booked their flight this year) didn't have to.

So technically, we all paid the same amount. nice tactics CebPac! ugh. and As usual, our flight was delayed for about a couple of hours. good thing that we brought some snacks for us to eat while waiting.

Boarding Pass! :)

So the plane ride from Manila to Macau is more or less two hours. we arrived in Macau almost midnight.

Touchdown Macau!

What we have noticed is that, they do not stamp our passport but rather, they will give you a piece of paper with your arrival info printed on it.

Welcome to Macau!

Since we ae on a tight budget, we opted to ride the public transportation rather than riding a Cab on our way to the hotel. we asked the help of some locals and some Pinoys we saw in the airport, luckily, the are a lot of Pinoys in Macau so we were given help to find our accommodation. Thank God for nice and helpful people. <3

As for our accommodation, I booked a hotel in Agoda. I booked the cheapest one during that time which is the Suite Room of Vila Universal. The room is Good for 5 people and we paid Php22,000 for three nights.

Facade of Vila Universal

Honestly, we've read a LOOOOOT of bad reviews for this hotel after we have booked in Agoda. Since we are on a tight budget and we'll just be using the room for sleeping, bathing, and to keep our things. We didn't expect much from our hotel room since a lot of reviewers are telling that the place is dirty; that the only good point about the hotel is the location and accessibility to tourist spots.

So as we arrive, we expected to clean first for us to rest "peacefully" hahahaha. but surprisingly, the room is clean and the aircon is very cold. the CR is okay, with heater and blower, though they don't provide bath towels (only face towels). Beds are just fine, not like the ones in five-star hotels.

OUR ROOM! hihihihi..

Location-wise, Vila Universal is just a 5-minute walk to Senado Square, which is also near to some Casinos. Though it is kinda hard to look for the hotel since it is situated in an "eskinita". another good thing about the Hotel is, in front of it is a...

Koi Kei Bakery!

Koi Kei Bakery is the biggest bakery chain in Macau, where you can buy your pasalubongs and even have a FREE TASTE of everything they sell! WOOT! Hooray for free stuff! hahahaha

Well, Basically, that ends our Day1 in our Macau Trip. our flight was Friday night so we didn't get the chance to roam around before sleeping. HAHAHAHA Day2 will be posted soon.

Thanks! God Bless!
